kids classes (ages 5 - 11)

Songs, Stories and Me

Ages 8-11

Young participants will engage in head-to-toe learning through a gentle exploration of acting and song that will explore emotions and theatrical techniques such as movement, voice, and storytelling as they adapt beloved stories and fairytales. Families and friends enjoy watching their young performers participate in a showcase at the end of the session.

Creative Drama

Ages 5 – 7

Theatre is a collaborative effort! In this fun offering, participants will use short scripted scenes that will encourage the students to listen to their peers, to share ideas, and to work as a team. This process will also introduce vocal and movement skills to the young actors who will begin a journey of developing their own characters and stories. Families and friends enjoy watching their young performers participate in a showcase at the end of the session.

Intro to Acting and Scene Work

This class will cover the basics of acting technique and will provide a solid foundation for kids interested in pursuing the craft of acting. The class will give actors an opportunity to learn through a variety of exercises, games, improvisation activities, and scene work. Actors will participate in a showcase for friends and family at the end of the session.

Musical Theatre Dance - Level One

Musical Theatre Dance – Level One
These classes are designed for students who are relatively new to dance. Classes consist of an upbeat warm-up and stretch including a focus on toning and strengthening by building on basic technique.

Across-the-floor combinations build vocabulary and allow the ability to work on musicality, pick-up skills and layering style with technical elements. All combinations are based on story-telling and performance– a fun and encouraging environment where movement comes with an intention and a reason. Students will participate in a showcase at the end of the session.

adult classes (ages 16+)

Intro to Acting and Scene Work

Improvisation I

Creating characters and telling stories on the fly is an invaluable skill for any actor. With the strategies and techniques acquired in this class, students will able to build confidence in improvisation with skills that can be applied to scripted and non-scripted work alike. Students will participate in a showcase at the end of the session.

  • Mondays & Wednesday / 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. 
  • Limited to 15 Students

Heels

If you’ve always wanted to learn to dance in heels, this is the workshop for you! Students will work on feeling comfortable walking in heels, basic technique, and exuding confidence while performing choreography.

  • Mondays & Wednesday / 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Musical Theatre Dance - Level Two

Classes move quickly and require a minimum of two years of ballet and jazz training within the last four years.  If you are competent with an intermediate/advanced level ballet barre, double jazz turns, split leaps, and are able to pick up choreography quickly, NVT’s intermediate/advanced level classes will be a good fit for you. Students will participate in a showcase at the end of the session.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICIES

Refunds will only be granted for medical or other extenuating circumstances.
If classes are canceled due to inclement weather, you will be notified via email and phone. These classes will be rescheduled.
